I agree with 80% of what you said.

Seriously though, I don't see a Republican candidate I think is going to change anything. It sucks that we kind of have to pick the lesser of two evils.

Interesting article and good writing Michael. I have strong beliefs as a Conservative prior to identifying with a Republican. I do agree with you that the 2 party system is fundamentally flawed. A true conservative believes that the government should not be in your bedroom, that the government does not define morality, and that the government under the 14th amendment is obliged to treat everyone equally.

I am a registered Republican for two main reasons. One, I agree with 80% of what they stand for. And if someone agrees with me 80% of the time they are my friend, not my enemy. Second, because I get to vote in the primary which gives me more say in who actually runs.

Most everything the Democrats stand for and do is disgusting to me. They are pandering to gays just like Republicans pander to the Religious right. Neither really cares about them-- they care about their own power and the money they can get from having that power.

For all the Clinton-loving gays out there- don't forget that HE was the President that signed DOMA (Defense of Marraige Act) that gays scorn as Nagasaki to our rights.

The bottom line is that gay marriage is ultimately going to be decided in the courts as a civil rights and 14th amendment issue. The rest is politics.

Obama is toast in 2012 not because of any social issue, but because people are unhappy with the economy, and blame the government and don't like when the fuckups of governmen actually start to affect their lives.

Congressional approval is in the teens. Yet 90% get re-elected ever 2 years. How is this possible????????

A couple of ways to solve our problems are:
1. Term limits for both the house and senate
2. Outlaw gerrymandering or 'designer' congressional districts to keep one party in power.
3. Abolish public sector unions. They negotiate AGAINST our representatives (who represent the taxpayer) but they give to our representatives campaigns!
4. Pass a balanced budget amendment with an exception for some major extremem circumstance. As long as the money flows freely and the currency is slaughtered, the country will go down the tubes.

I enjoyed this one Michael. Keep up the good work!
